What is it about?

Marcie has just gotten divorced and lost all of her money. All she wants is to be left alone with her teenage son, Jesse. Her new neighbor won’t let her hide away from the world for long.

Was it good?

Despite the fact that I went into this book thinking it was a DETECTIVE story, I ended up really enjoying it. There were a few things that were a tad bit annoying, like Markie’s ignorance about certain things that seemed very obvious to me. Over all, though, the story was very enjoyable, and even funny at times.

This is a great general fiction about life after divorce, the love of family, and how friends (and neighbors) can really impact your life.

“Don’t you think it’s a rather insulting label?” Markie said.

“Och”—Mrs. Saint waved a hand—“I would never say it to them.”
