Sci-fi | Zombie | Military
I recieved a copy of this book from the author, Bruno Martins Soares, in exchange for an honest review.
Maria (hey, that’s my name!) who is a mother trying to protect her young daughter from the crazy Russian community leader. She and her daughter are very important to Dmitri and he goes to a lot of trouble to try and get her back.
JJ Berger is the leader of the Shadow troop, a special military unit that has a lot of experience dealing with hostage situations and other military extractions. He and his team are asked to retrieve the assets who infiltrated the Russian community when communication with the spies was lost.
All of this takes place in a world where illness has caused a massive portion of the population to become aggressive and basically zombies.
I don’t have any military experience, but I thought this book felt very realistic while still being entertaining. The descriptions made the author and main character seem very knowledgeable without overwhelming the reader.
I really enjoyed both perspectives and I think the author did a great job bringing the two together at the end.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys stories involving post-apocalyptic, zombie, military missions, or mom’s protecting their children.
