How the Queen Found the Perfect Cup of Tea by Kate Hosford

This is a really fantastic picture book. The art is beautiful and expressive. I love seeing exactly what the queen is thinking and feeling. This book is hilarious and has so many little details to laugh about.

We read this as part of our UK study as recommended by our Torchlight Kindergarten curriculum. I loved it, and so did my kids.

The following is my 5 year old’s “book review” he wrote for the “travel magazine” we write for every place we visit. (He dictated and I wrote everything except his name.)

How the Queen Found the Perfect Cup of Tea by Kate Hosford. Illustrated by Gabi Swiatkowska.

It is funny that she is yelling at James. It is funny that the cats are in the hot air balloon. It is funny that James is running after her and his shoe fell off. It is funny how the boy looks and is missing a tooth. It is funny that James is off the ground when the Queen is dancing. Her hair is so funny.
